These pipes were a bit tough to get on, I expect any 2 into 1 where the head pipes are attached to each other will be the same though. Took a few tries to get both ends lined up into the heads. Ended up using the Screamin Eagle style exhaust gaskets rather than the usual cone shaped ones; this made it much easier.
Chrome is excellent, heat shields fit well and were pretty easy to get on.
Low end power feels good. Exhaust is pretty quiet, much quieter than I expected but when you get on the throttle the sound increases nicely.
One thing that had concerned me before buying; the pipes are low at the front, below the frame. I was afraid it would interfere with my jack (J&S). It doesn’t hit but is extremely close (1/8″ ish). I haven’t had any trouble with cornering clearance but I’m generally not a very aggressive rider. Your mileage may vary.
Overall, nice pipes. I would recommend them. my bike is 09 XL1200L.
